Our 2023 Staff

 

Bryant Bernal

Bryant Bernal is currently the Drumline Director & Arranger for the UCF Marching Knights. In addition to his duties at UCF, he is the Percussion Director at Hagerty High School and an active percussion educator, arranger, and clinician throughout Florida. His private students have performed in All-County and All-State honor bands, solo and ensemble festivals, DCI, WGI, as well as national and international summer music festivals.


Bobby Blum

Bobby Blum is an active percussion educator, performer, composer, and clinician throughout Florida. Bobby is originally from Orlando, Florida and now lives in Melbourne, Florida with his wife, Gevonne, and daughter, Riley. He is a graduate of Lake Mary High School and Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. While at Rollins he earned a B.A. in Music Performance and studied with Beth Gottlieb. Bobby is a much sought-after clinician and adjudicator, and he has judged students at both the district and state level for Solo and Ensemble and marching band contests. He has presented percussion seminars for local band directors and for the Florida Bandmasters Summer Convention. As an educator and arranger, he has worked with many middle and high school music programs throughout the state. His private students consistently perform in county and state honor bands, solo and ensemble festivals, drum and bugle corps, local and state percussion festivals, and summer music camps. Many of his students have gone on to major in music at the university level, and several of his former students are now percussion instructors across Florida. 


Daniel Greenwood

Mr. Greenwood serves as the Percussion Director at Vero Beach High School. He is a 2012 graduate of VBHS and was highly active as a member of the Fighting Indians Band. He attended the University of South Florida where he studied percussion with Robert McCormick. At USF, he performed with the McCormick Percussion Group, the Herd of Thunder Drumline, was a featured percussionist with the Symphonic Band, and Co-Principal Percussionist of the Wind Ensemble. Under his direction, VBHS Percussionists have continued to receive superior ratings at the Solo & Ensemble MPA and in the Percussion caption at Marching MPA. He also made an appearance at the 24th annual “Red, White, and Blue” concerts, performing a xylophone feature with the combined VBHS Concert Bands. Mr. Greenwood maintains a private-lessons studio of percussion students from across Indian River County.  In addition to his duties for the VBHS Percussion Program, he serves as the Director of Bands at Gifford Middle School, with most his students becoming members of the Fighting Indians Band. He graduated Cum Laude in 2015 with his Bachelor of Science in Music Education. He is a member of FMEA, FBA, and the Percussive Arts Society (PAS), and enjoys educating students in the art of percussion.


Christie Knudson

Christie Knudson serves as the E-Commerce Specialist for Schmitt Music, a Midwest-based chain of music stores, and additionally as the media strategist for Treasure Coast Percussion and Treasure Coast Percussion Camp (TCPC). Every June, she also works on staff with TCPC, specializing in keyboards and mallets. Mrs. Knudson graduated with her Bachelors in Music Education and Percussion Performance and Masters in Web Design, both from the University of Florida. Her past involvements include Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, UF Drumline, and UF Orchestra Timpanist.


Paige Madden

Paige Madden holds a Masters of Arts degree in Percussion Performance from the University of Central Florida, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon. While at UO, she spent her undergraduate years on the Oregon Marching Band snareline, ultimately becoming the university’s first female center snare. Paige is now the Assistant Drumline Instructor for the UCF Drumline, in addition to performing at Disney World and around the Central Florida area. Paige is also a recurring staff member at the Alan Keown Marching Percussion Camp.


Kyle Matthews

Kyle graduated from Port St. Lucie High School in 2020. After High School, Kyle was the percussion instructor at Fort Pierce Central High School from 2020-2021, worked at Sebastian River High School as an assistant drumline instructor in 2021 and is currently the Percussion Instructor at Treasure Coast High School, the Titan Sound Percussion! Kyle has marched in the Macy’s Great American Marching Band in 2017, STRYKE Percussion World on Snare in 2021 and most recently, Shadow Drum and Bugle Corp on Snare for the 2021 season. Kyle is the proud owner of the private percussion lesson company, St Lucie Percussion and the proud owner of Royalty Percussion!


Doug Moser

Doug Moser is Associate Director of Bands and Percussion Director at Sebastian River High School and Sebastian River Middle School in Sebastian, FL. Mr. Moser earned the Bachelor of Arts in Music from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, and the Masters Degree in Music from the University of South Florida in Tampa. He has directed the USF Herd of Thunder Drumline, created the WGI championship finalist Brahma Percussion Ensemble independent indoor drumline, and is a co-author of Masterworks for Mallets.


Anthony Parrulli

Anthony Parrulli is a drummer/entertainer/educator from Oldsmar, Florida. He started his professional career as an original member of “The Jammitors” at Disney’s EPCOT, then spent 16 years as a Blue Man in Blue Man Group in NYC, Chicago, Boston, Las Vegas & Orlando. Currently, he is a Performer Lead in “The Discovery Island Drummers” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the Performer Director for the “Tampa Bay Buccaneers Buc-Beat Line”. Anthony was a member of both the Suncoast Sound and Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps and competed in the World Pipe Band Championships in Scotland with the City of Dunedin Pipe Band. As an educator, Anthony is currently the Percussion Director at Windermere High School in Florida and has worked with many other successful percussion programs around the country. Anthony personally endorses Promark Drumsticks, Sabian Cymbals, Evans Drumheads and ddrum drums.
